| What a bag of shit: |
[Sep. 20th, 2006|10:32 pm] |
You scored as atheism.
You are... an atheist, though you probably already knew this. Also, you probably have several people praying daily for your soul. Instead of simply being "nonreligious," atheists strongly believe in the lack of existence of a higher being, or God.
atheism 83% Satanism 50% Islam 38% Paganism 38% agnosticism 33% Buddhism 29% Judaism 25% Christianity 25% Hinduism 0%
http://quizfarm.com anyway before you get carried away my issue is not with the results which aren't unexpected but with the absolute shitness of the 'test' I know online tests are in general shit but this goes beyond those boundaries and clearly shows that it fails to understand any set of religious tenants (except bullshit ones like 'Satanism') It seems to not see beyond the media stereotpe of a muslim man beating his wife into submission or the christian redneck creationist.
I think this indicates a complete waste of my five minutes. |

| Badness |
[May. 21st, 2006|10:13 pm] |
Well over the last few weeks I have managed to consume more alcohol than is strictly wise. This resulted in a complete and utter disaster on Friday evening where I tried to out drink Joe matching Old Rosie with whoosy pints of Guiness. This was a foolish mistake.
However before getting very drunk I did get to go down a very cool tunnel on some kind of strange Nottingham tour. I have no idea where that tunnel is and would appreciate directions for a re-visit!
Somehow Joe & myself also managed to meet a strange Swede called Erik who taught us to say:
Lena Handen Vanstrav
or spanking the monkey left handed.
Things got a lot worse when we ended up leaving with Jos,Hannah, this odd guy Doug and his Norwegian friend Nadine. Apparently we had a little house party (joe, me, doug and Nadine) and er I broke into hannah and Jos' house [through Bob's friends who were sleeping in the living room) and tried to get Hannah to join us! I'm pretty sure i did this at Doug's urging but *shrug* I have no fucking idea.
I do know either Doug or I broke Joe's big special glass. Heh. Saturday was a blur...
Anyway back to Erik: We were most appreciative or his language skills and even joined him at a Swedish house warming/ Eurovision party on Saturday. This was terrible but Lordi were kinda fun.
Escaped with Joe to Speak Easy where a brummie (actually from Hull *shrug*) lass of easy smiles and friendliness was unable to convince him to visit the delightful cockcity.
I would say he's got it bad, but then I recall cockcity..... Still got to briefly so hello to Twist and Spikeman contraire.
Thisevneign was going fairly well and I hadn't inhibed as much (for my livers self protection) until we got to the White Hart where I was told by Mr D.Hutton -three times no less! - that I was a c*nt
1. missing his bbq 2. convincing some local that dan would play hendrix for him (dan wanted Maiden *shrug*) 3. And er 3 apparently telling Old Jenny (bulldog Jenny, she of Cavendish hall) that she should stay clear of Mr Hutton as he had a very very serious STD. I have no recollection of this but I certianly did tell her his rep!
Either way I wholeheartedly apologise for any misconstruement or offence.
Needless to say Joe and I wondered home to continue drowning sorrows!
Love is a tricky thing. |

So much sun it makes my car hot and unhappy!
This could be a bad thing in terms of getting to work...
As usual tonight is the monthly 'metalfest' at rockcity the fantastical Damage. I have the day off tomorrow so can take it a little friskily..
Hopefully not too frisky like |

| Bah |
[May. 7th, 2006|11:13 pm] |
I was forced, forced, to work at Luffbra Uni Campus all week....in the first hot spell all week.
Several issues with this: 1. It's a sport university 2. The client was a sports and recreation management client 3. They all were very keen on exercise 4. I have nothing in common with the above. 5. It was hot 6. Student girls don't wear enough clothes when it is hot. 7. There is clearly something wrong wiht me.
In addition: drinking two nights in a row with old man Joe is so very wrong.
Further more I so hate her. |

| Sweeeeeeeeden |
[Apr. 17th, 2006|09:24 pm] |
I have returned from my 4 day trip to Gothenburg!
Points to note: Sweden is indeed warm in July. This means it's wet and miserable in April - I will in future revert to July.
Staying with my friend Alex, his gf Amelie, and Gines the Daemon of Palma.
Unlike the French, the Swedes can speak English. This make VTES drafts much easier (i came 4th out of 20 which was nice, especially as a drafted crap.) Still placed higher than my host Alex Ek which is always good.
SAMA - Scandinavian Alternative Music Awards are really really cool. Largest EBM/Industrial/Synth club i've ever been to. Location looks a little like the crystal palace from the outside, I have no idea if that's a good or bad thing. Das Ich were unfortunately hampered by their laptop being partly destroyed by Ryan Air. This resulted in a mainly acoustic set.....from and EBM 'band'. This was pretty bizarre.
De/vision were ok like a version of VNV with Rammstein riffs. My hosts did not like this! Spetsnaz were quite old school and were a little scary in the brownshirt style clothes. Nazi gear is so passe.
VNV came on at 1 am and absolutely rocked although I was completely knackered by the end of it. 'New' stuff that I hadn't heard is pretty reasonable and certainly justifies a listen.
I feel the late Friday night kind of destroyed the Saturday for me - Alex & Gines only had to judge not play! I can only play well on lack of sleep if i'm hungover! This resulted in a first round of Arika pain with a Carna deflect prey (ghey), a 2nd round of weird Garou cross table ousting (and 3 of my 4 points!) and finally a down to the wire 1 point when I was so so so close to getting a sweep and 4! End result for Swedish ECQ 10th out of 32. Needed top 25%, was off by 1 point which I had on the 2nd table but was nice and gave it away to a norwegian (doh!).
To note for future: 25% of Swedish gamers are women. 75% of Swedish women (including gamers) are pretty. This is unfair. Gothcon 2006 was a great success!
Only major downer was when Martin the Dane foolishly lost his wallet. ALex 7 I managed to retrieve it from the indonesian restaurant *Bali* which means i'm 700 SEK richer! Muahahahah. Well until I post it to him!
Four days with only half a bottle of red wine was really difficult. Bummer. |

| Phonetic |
[Apr. 4th, 2006|06:42 pm] |
Fairly simple I would think.
Ang - See - Sing
Try again after me with less gaps.
Ang-See-Sing
Right so apaprently the way to offend Citylink is to have an 'unpronoucable name' have the guy (sod1) say 'Er 45 ***********' for your address rather than 'Mr Angseesing'
You then 'kindly' ask "did they not teach you phonetics at school?" The receptionist then states (while sod1 looks confused, sad & angry) (shrill, sarcastic voice) "perhaps he did that to not offend you" Well clearly it's offensive when it's blatanly obvious (he took over a minute to decide what to say after announcing the previous chaps name)
Be brave use your phonetic alphabet. |

| According to unfounded rumour.... |
[Mar. 19th, 2006|12:33 pm] |
Jennifer Connelly has huge amounts of cellulite and small breasts.
These rumours are completely untrue, from Labyrinth to Hulk to House of Sand & Fog, she remains indescribably perfect.
So there.
You know who you are.
Leave her alone.

Computer still not working -so instead of online BB/Rome Total War or Civ4 I must content myself with the relaunch of the Vic.
Notes about the evening: a. The first years seemed to dislike it (all 3 I know)
This is a good thing as of course it should be a night for Olde people (anyone over 20 at a minimum)
b. First time I actually have seen & Ben being in the remotest bit couply - This was kind of sweet. But still scary!
c. I've somehow become gay by leaving Nottingham for two years?! This is a shame. If i'd realised I would have stocked up on a plentiful supply of outrageous shirts. |

| Revolutions... |
[Dec. 31st, 2005|07:04 pm] |
That time of year again
Single again. (does mean an increase in the % of ex-gf I can still talk to!) Little heavier. Earning 20% less than last year.
So to rectify this I will: eat the heart of any man, woman, childe or beast who crosses me. capture hot goth girls and ransom them for bottles of mascara. get qualified in my job & maintain my hair. increase sarcasm to keep all girls who would even think about going out with me away. become what I always should and always will be - gamer = gamer = single = gamer + more money to spend on games and going to sweden/italy.....
A toast to those who can no longer be with us, may Wodan open his doors and break open the mead.
Happy New Year (off drinkaging) xXx |

| Fuck me I don't get it |
[Oct. 16th, 2005|07:50 pm] |
What have I done to get so much abuse? If it’s not Craig or Doug it’s Justine telling me I’m a great big whale.
Thanks a fucking lot and while I’m here why don’t I become 15 again and borrow some pills and a shotgun and blow them all away.
Isn’t it enough that I’ve just yanked myself up out a perfectly good job, moved back here, got insulted by and overweight balding DJ who talks out of someone elses arse, have the stress of cutting my hair, find a new playgroup, and trying to work in a normal environment.
Really really fucking me off.
At least Rich’s wine is pretty good. |

Pretty good weekend it was really good walking up the thames to henley. Very nice weather. There was a scary moment when an old man in front of us wobbled and collapsed on the river bank -but we managed to get him back onto his feet and onto a stile for him to rest. Went to see constantine Sunday also pretty good especially as we were eating chocolates during the procedure.
Quite a random update after so many months but nevermind.
New gf, new job..... |

| busy busy busy... |
[Jan. 25th, 2005|07:21 pm] |
just got back from a 'training week' in Brussels...I can now report I cna drink 7 belgium beers in one sitting without feeling too bad...however mix in a bottle of wine and i'll decorate the bathroom of my hotel room on a friday night :D
Why oh why do they not tell you that even the blonde beers are 6-10% :(
Managed to understand days 1-3 of course (computation fluid dynamics) day 4 was a horrible horrible blur as spent wednesday night seeing in my work colleague tboy's birthday in. Friday didn't feel so good so went to Waterloo battlefield instead...quite moving monuments and interactive sections.
headed back on saturday after hiking up huge credit card bill (steak/lobster for a dinner of 12, hotel bill, and of course chocolate and french absinthe :P ) Got back to find my housemate Paul entertaining his friends Andrea (who has gore_goddess eyes) and Ross. Then he left them as he went to hopefully bag his (soon to be) lady at a houseparty. So there was I (with my other housemate franks and chris' support) on a stomach of bile and hate trying to entertatin two peeps and no copy of scrabble!
Obviously we watched Chopper instead..don't think Andrea was impressed (she fell asleep as girls are wont to do hey heidi :P )
Next day super birthday for Hugh! This involved goign to London and playing a Vampire (VTES) draft in a pub. Took Frank and Rob with me and was joined by ant and some other people. There followed much drinking (jack frost, winter ale, london pride, 2*scrumpy and er a baileys and galiano) and I somehow managed to win the draft (i kind of tricked somebody/some would say i lied :D -but he deserved it filthy liar that he twas ;) )
back to work on monday -I have no clue where I am all I want to do is file in my claims receipts of £900+ before my statement is due.
Gotta prepare to meet J at electric ballroom friday night tho! |

[Jan. 6th, 2005|08:47 am] |
What a weird period since i last posted. won UK nationals at watford in November for VTES (23 players!) went to Heidleburg two weeks later and came 111 and 19 out of 119 (more pleased with 19th as that was competition day).
Went to Brighton for Heidi's Birthday met Bluemovement as well as H&M and suprisingly Bigfatstu [president of nottingham rocksoc and biggest procrastinator ever) and stom. Had a very good night in Brighton on the Friday met some people there from previous times like Simon and Alex (also Sib who I wouldn't recall where I knew her from until xmas eve when I met her at Judder in Cheltenham). And also finally met this lovely girl who keeps responding to my texts and msns....supposedly we're gonna meet :) She's pretty left wing (and a veggie!) but enjoys chocolate among other things!
Xmas was good especially xmas eve which was nearly the first time i'd been out in a year in Cheltenham -I met all my old friends and the odd new one and got given a brand spanking new glow in the dark bracelet. I did however eat a lot of chocolate money and grapes (toga theme by Chaos Lee). And felt a little hungover until I smelt the turkey cooking the next day (lunch not till 2 thank the gods.)
Gave more presents this year than ever before including nice presents for nephew & Niece. I also got a wicked mp3 player from my brother but i'm not sure if it's allowed at work...oh well will ask... |

| Guilt trips... |
[Oct. 24th, 2004|02:04 pm] |
| [ | mood |
| | guilty | ] |
| [ | music |
| | Rammstein -amerika | ] | There are many reasons for feeling guilty...
1. I am sitting looking at 900 grams worth of empty chocolate wrappers -that's 900 grams eaten and disposed of in 5 days. I now need to go to Brighton again to restock ont he good stuff. Oh woe is me.
2. Chatting up 17 year olds is socially unexceptable ;)
3. Being given a load of flyers to hand out and passing them off onto someone else when you become busy (see above) is preety funny :D Sad thing is the other guy seemed to enjoy handing out flyers....
4. Managed to get my hosuemate wei-teng to go supernova at the fantastic walkabout last night. this involved me tellign the truth and trying to explain to him that what he heard isn't what i said (I told him China wasn't very hot refering the the Wrestler -he got very defensive being a chinese nationalist!) |
